Rogue-Lite is a University project that I created in my final year. The criteria for the assignment was to create a top-down game, and I originally opted to create a Roguelike. However, over time I dropped the more serious characteristics that tend to come with Roguelikes and went for something more casual and accessible to play, whilst still retaining some of the typical mechanics of the genre.

  • Perma-death is present, meaning dying returns you to the beginning.

  • Players progress through the level by clearing rooms of enemies.

  • Enemies drop loot with random values.

  • Core stats such as Health and Armour can be upgraded through an in-game NPC.

  • The player character has abilities bound to a cooldown.

  • ​
